Cocalc

LaTeX, Jupyter and Linux

CoCalc offers a comprehensive workspace for computational research and education. Users collaboratively edit LaTeX documents with live preview, code in Jupyter Notebooks (supporting Python, R, Octave, and more), or work directly in Linux terminals – all within a browser-based environment.

Changes are synchronized instantly across all collaborators in a project. Additionally, the platform ensures automatic version control through its TimeTravel functionality, allowing users to review or restore any previous file state.

CoCo AI

CoCo AI is our code completion service utilizing Chat AI. To use it you need a SAIA API Key. Many code editors feature LLM integration these days. We provide documentation for using the Continue extension for Visual Studio Code (VSCode), as well as for the Zed editor. Visual Studio Code (or Jetbrains) is required as your IDE (Integrated Development Environment) to use CoCo AI.

eduVote

Audience Response System

eduVote is an audience response system that enables lecturers to interact with students and receive real-time feedback. This can be visualized in the form of MC questions, word clouds or text lists directly within PowerPoint (PC, Mac, iPad).

Use in teaching

eduVote is used at many universities in German-speaking countries, as it can be integrated seamlessly into the lecturer’s existing PowerPoint slides with little effort. Students can provide feedback by answering multiple-choice questions, submitting free text for word clouds or text lists or by means of yes/no questions. It is also possible to collect text contributions during the course in such a way that only the lecturer can see them.

Hub

The Hub as a communication and networking platform enables university staff, lecturers and students to engage in discussions about specific topics or projects and stay in contact with each other in communities.

The Hub allows individuals and groups to exchange ideas, share information and connect. Communication takes place in spaces, which can be created for specific projects, topics or groups.

Jupyter

Jupyter is a tool for editing Python, Julia or R code in a browser-based editor. The code is stored in a notebook and can be executed and shared for testing and demonstrations. The cloud-based portal JupyterHub serves as an interface and manages created notebooks. Jupyter thus provides an ideal basis for interactive coding in the fields of teaching and research.

Meet is a video conference tool for higher education. It enables interactive online lectures with features such as breakout rooms, screen sharing, shared notes and a whiteboard to support collaborative learning. Ideal for seminars, tutorials and group work, it provides a platform for effective communication and collaboration between lecturers and students.

MeisterTask

MeisterTask is a project management tool that facilitates collaboration and communication in teams and student working groups. The software allows tasks to be created, assigned and given deadlines. The Kanban board and a personal dashboard provide a clear overview of progress and individual tasks. Particify is an university-based audience response tool with feedback, survey and Q&A functions that enables lecturers to interactively communicate with students and receive anonymous real-time feedback – whether online, hybrid or in person.
