Data management plan
Göttingen Research Online Plan is a service to generate data management plans for research projects. It is managed by the Göttingen eResearch Alliance and is based on the open-source software RDMO. The service allows you to capture all relevant planning information – if desired collaboratively - and manage all data management tasks across the entire data lifecycle in one customizable document including versioning and permission management - the data management plan.
Plan your research data management
Göttingen Research Online Plan allows to create a new or import and adapt an existing data management plan (DMP), which is a formal document outlining what data will be used and collected during a project, and how it will be handled during and after the project. Users can select a questionnaire from a variety of supporting question sets tailored to the requirements of specific disciplines or third party funders. Based on the responses to the questionnaire, a DMP is generated and individual tasks are created to help users manage their research data.
The project owner can invite project partners to collaborate on the DMP and manage the access rights of individual users. The service also supports versioning. Snapshots can be used to save all responses at a particular point in time and freeze a particular stage of the project. The snapshot can later be used to create views, and the project can also be rolled back to an earlier snapshot if required. Additionally, exporting the DMP into various formats is possible, e.g. to work on or format the DMP with external tools, import it into other RDMO based instances or use it as template for future DMPs.
